Auto Glass Insurance Claims

Oregon State law guarantees your right to choose where you have your car repaired. Insurance companies can not force you to have your car repaired where you don’t want to have it repaired. Where you have your car repaired is your choice, it the law.
There have been a lot of changes in the way insurance carriers handle an insurance claim. They are trying to control the cost of claims, which is great. In many cases the insurance personnel will have you call a toll-free (800) number to file a glass claim. Here is where it gets tricky. In most cases when you call the 800 number the person who answers the phone is not from the insurance company. In fact, they are from a glass network (billing service company) that has a relationship with the insurance company to process your claim. The largest of these glass network billing companies is actually in the auto glass retail business. They want to get your car to the shop they own down the street and will tell you anything to get the job. That’s how they get paid. Be stern and tell them “It’s my car, and my choice!” Their most common lines are “These are our list of approved shops” or “You’ll have to pay extra if you them”. Or “They do not guarantee their work”. All of these lines are used to try and under-mine your decision.
Here are the facts
We do work for all insurance companies. It’s your choice to have us (or any other company) repair your windshield. None of our customers have ever had to pay extra because they chose to have us handle their windshield replacement. We’ll work out a fair price with your insurance company. We will work with you on your deductible. The Glass Guys will only warranty their work at the location of installation. We are locally owned & operated unlike the big chains (owned by foreign companies). We are based here in Salem, Oregon and we are here to stay.
